Kitty corner

I left this location with feline hair around my stretchy pants (the very first time this has occurred in ages), as well as I wasn’t even mad about it.

The Kitty corner adoption center is run by the Marin Humane Society. It’s found in the town of San Anselmo, which is a few towns south of us. We went last weekend on a whim.

Quite a few buddies have told me that they believe it can be a great concept in some cases to embrace a new kitty soon after losing one. I don’t feel remotely prepared for one more feline buddy yet, however I keep in mind a piece of guidance my smart old landlady provided me when about feeling prepared for huge things. She said, “You’re never going to feel ready.” This short as well as wonderful sentence has proven to be true numerous times over in my life. I don’t know… I believed about it as I satisfied a couple of the residents at Kitty Corner: a feisty black feline full of swagger named Espresso, as well as a gentle long-haired beautiful named Sammie.

Both women were very wonderful — particularly Espresso. Chatty as well as confident, she has what one of the adoption counselors phone call “a smoker’s meow.” She throws her whole body into her kitty hugs, too, which is why I ended up with hairy pants.

I might kindasorta see Espresso fitting into our family, however I didn’t feel an undeniable sense that she was my cat.

It was only when we’d left that I realized that part of me had really hoped we’d walk into Kitty corner as a household of three as well as leave as a household of four. It was an “Aha” moment. There’s space in our household as well as like in our hearts to show one more cat, as well as when we discover her (or him), we’ll know.
