Bronzer addiction!

Yeah, it’s a genuine thing. LOL.

Mine occurred circa 2014, which was when I believed that a person might never wear sufficient bronzer, as well as I actually piled it on. I was so into bronzer that I had a devoted bronzer makeup drawer, as well as I went into that drawer to pick out one, two or often even four (!) different bronzers to wear every morning.

It was that serious.

I was reminded of this phase on my makeup journey since of the new Hoola Bronzers by Benefit. benefit just introduced two new ones, darker shades, in Toasted as well as Caramel ($30 each), as well as as I daintily swept Toasted across my cheeks today with a big, fluffy brush, I believed about exactly how in a different way I manage bronzer now than I did back in the day. Karen from back in the day would have looked at me now as well as said, “What the heck, dude?! You aren’t using almost sufficient bronzer!”

Oh yeah, still an NC42!
Back in 2013-’14, I wished to wear all. The. Makeup.

Every last bit of it. Primer, powder, color correctors — all the bells as well as whistles. as well as bronzer was my preferred thing. I was fascinated by exactly how one seemingly basic product might totally transform the shape of my face.

With a few very carefully put swipes (OK, a lot more than a few, ha ha ha!) and, let’s get real, NOT A great deal OF BLENDING, I’d sharpen my cheekbones as well as make my button nose look thinner as well as my forehead look less large — the latter two being things I’d always been especially self-conscious about. before long, I got utilized to seeing that different, rearranged version of my deal with in the mirror.

Me: You must most likely take out those crazy clips first. likewise me:

The turning point for me came someday at Nordstrom while checking out shoes…

I was trying on a pair of high-heeled sandals as well as checking out myself in a full-length mirror when I stopped mid-stomp as well as realized — holy SH*T — I look like I’ve got two zebra stripes going down the sides of my face!

There were two visible parallel lines running down the sides as well as a thick stripe of bronzer going across the top of my forehead.

I had a breakthrough moment. “No a lot more zebra stripes,” I quietly pledged. “No more.”

Don’t get me wrong, I still like using the stuff.

I’m just not as heavy-handed with it. I’ll do a sheer touch of bronzer across my cheekbones, a gentle sweep across my forehead, as well as that’s normally sufficient to add a subtle sun-kissed something-something to my skin, which is fine by me.

Wearing Hoola Caramel across my cheekbones as well as nose, in the crease, as well as across the top of my forehead for a bit sun-kissed action. Blush: Clinique Sunset Glow. Lipstick: MAC Crosswires. Eyeshadow: roam appeal Amber Wave. Eyeliner: Clinique quite simple Pen. Mascara: MAC prolonged Play Perm Me Up Lash. Foundation/Concealer: Kosas tinted deal with Oil in Tone 06 as well as Maybelline immediate Age Rewind Concealer in Golden.
I don’t feel the requirement to modification my natural features anymore. (Side note: This is a whole ‘nother story, however the gist of it is that I’ve worked fiercely as well as diligently on loving myself just as I am for the last few years, as well as part of that is loving my deal with just the method it is.)

Sometimes, I’ll be browsing Sephora as well as see a gal using gorgeous bronzer, or I’ll see photos of J. Lo’s makeup (BRONZER FOR DAYS), as well as believe to myself, “Wow, she looks amazing,” so who knows? perhaps I’ll get back on the bodacious bronzer bandwagon again. all of us go with makeup phases, right? That’s one of the coolest things about it, I think. nobody states you have to like the exact same makeup forever.
